Here’s some vital background info before I go on a rant about how obsessed I am with this place. Ever since I was a little girl, I have been addicted to mac n’ cheese. I actually consider myself quite the mac n’ cheese connoisseur; I order it every time I can. I love it all- Kraft, gourmet, crumbs, no crumbs, velveeta, etc. So once I found out that Manhattan has several exclusively mac n’ cheese restaurants, I naturally had to test the ones I could.
Thanks to my editor, I found out about the best place ever, I mean S’Mac. Seriously, this is the best place ever. I tried it for the first time about a month ago and nearly had heart palpitations. My friend, who for some bizarre and unearthly reason doesn’t like mac n’ cheese, sampled mine and was tempted to buy one for herself. That time I tried the four cheese. This review is about the all-American.

Review: S’Mac is actually a religious experience. While I do chow down on any mac n’ cheese (I don’t discriminate), I am very particular about what I consider top-notch mac n’ cheese. For me, the best mac n’ cheese has crunchy and savory bread crumbs, a medley of melted cheeses that ooze into a sauce and hearty elbow macaroni. S’Mac has it all. The four cheese was incredible, but the all-American brought me back to the classics. It was so good that I literally scraped the sides and ate it all. If you go to S’Mac, just know that your life will never be the same. S’Mac is genuinely one of these parts of Manhattan that I’ll miss the most.
