Disclaimer: this review actually comes from a recent Dean & DeLuca outing, where they so happen to sell Astro Doughnuts. I have not (yet) been to Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken, but plan on a visit in the near future (to sample all vegetarian options).
While running some errands on M (a favorite hobby of mine), my friends and I stopped by D&D for a snack and, naturally, I gravitated to the pastries section. A little while ago I read that D&D would start carrying Astro doughnuts so I checked to see if it was still true: good news, people. DEAN AND DELUCA SELLS ASTRO DOUGHNUTS.

Review: My friend (a donut aficionado) has always raved about this crème brûlée specialty, so I knew I would try it once I got my hands on it. To be 100% honest, I was hesitant to try it just because I knew there was a good risk of disappointment (just because crème brûlée is one of my favorite desserts and it’s not the easiest of dishes to make… especially converted into a donut). Luckily, I was very wrong. THIS DONUT IS ABSURDLY DELICIOUS. It’s perfectly torched, perfectly glazed, perfectly made. The best part? THE CUSTARD ON THE INSIDE. I realize I’ve abused my caps lock on this review, but I’m trying to convey the wonder that is the Astro crème brûlée donut. Needless to say, I must try them all immediately. This is starting to feel like an addiction.
