A couple of weeks ago, my roommate’s parents came into town and wanted to treat us to dinner. I was thrilled to go because I adore her parents, but got even more excited when I found out that we were going to Café Milano. I had been dying to go there for months and finally had the chance! Before going I had only heard people rave about the Georgetown establishment. Oh, and I heard that Michelle Obama went there for her birthday. I figured that if the First Lady loved it, I would too. I was right.
Name: Café Milano
Location: 3251 Prospect St NW
Time: 8:30 pm on a Sunday
Order: Tagliolini Tartufati Barba ($19) and Tiramisu ($13)
Review: OH. MY. GOD. Now I know what all of the hype is about! We started off with the complimentary bread which was top-notch, to say the least. Then we ordered a caprese salad which came in a small portion and was delicious. I ordered the truffle tagliolini pasta with the creamy pecorino sauce and was devastated to eat the last bite. I could tell the pasta and sauce were homemade and fresh, which is always a plus. Plus I’ll admit it was tricky to eat, as noodles always are. Finally, we all shared a tiramisu for dessert and I’m not lying when I say it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. I actually called my grandmother the next day to rave to her about it. I’m not typically a huge tiramisu lover, but this one converted me. It’s safe to say I can’t wait to go again one day!
