I’ve never been a huge fan of face creams because I was under the impression that combination and usually acne-prone skin shouldn’t be moisturized. Oils plus more oils must be bad, right? Wrong. It turns out that when your skin is too dry, it produces its own oils and causes breakouts. So I’ve become a bit better at applying face creams and striking the right balance.
A few months ago I was at Sephora buying who-knows-what when the cashier informed me that I had whatever amount of points, thus allowing me to pick a free item. I chose the Kate Somerville kit, complete with cleanser, exfoliator and moisturizer. At first I was reticent to use up all 500 points on a mini kit (because I had a regimen at the time), but luckily the cashier informed me that it was one of the best 500 Point Perks she had ever seen.
The cleanser and exfoliating treatment were alright, but this cream REALLY stuck out to me. It’s insanely moisturizing yet lightweight—the consummate combination. I like to use it at night after my shower because I feel like it really soothes and pampers my squeaky clean skin. Unfortunately, my sample already ran out and I’m contemplating buying the product at Sephora. (It costs a pretty little penny).
I got my Kate Somerville oil-free moisturizing cream sample at Sephora, but you can buy yours at Kate Somerville, Nordstrom, Amazon or other sites. If you’ve used this product or recommend another Kate Somerville product, please let me know! Xoxo
