One of my biggest beauty obsessions is masks: they are so pampering, soothing and healing. It’s like a calming facial in a bottle (without the price tag or wait time). My favorite type of masks are clay masks because they’re great for conquering blemishes and cajoling irritated skin. While I’ve used Dr. Murad’s clay mask for a while, I recently converted to Darphin’s Purifying Aromatic Clay Mask after receiving a fortuitous sample at Blue Mercury after a facial last week (review to come, stay tuned).
Unlike most clay masks, Darphin’s is white… and smells AMAZING. Seriously, I wish I could convert it into a perfume, laundry detergent, pillow mist, shampoo, bath soap, etc… It really is as aromatic as it claims. Anyway, it’s a smooth and creamy mask that applies just like a moisturizer, so it doesn’t feel like you’re caking on a typical clay mask. Plus, a little goes a long way. I’ve used it a couple times, both as a spot treatment and as a general mask. It’s great for oily and/or acne prone skin because it purifies and absorbs excess oil, while leaving skin moisturized and yummy smelling.
Unfortunately, I haven’t used the mask as often as I’d like to because my skin has felt a little dry lately so I’m just trying to moisturize it before I can apply masks again. However, my skin hasn’t felt dry or looked irritated after I’ve used it. Even more unfortunately, I plan on making the most of that teeny sample cause the mask isn’t exactly cheap. Although the 75ml would last me a long time, I’m not looking to shell out $50 on a mask sometime soon.
I got my Darphin clay mask sample at Blue Mercury, but you can buy yours at Darphin, Dermstore, Amazon or other sites. If you’ve used this product or recommend another Darphin product, please let me know! Xoxo
