Hi all! I know it’s been a terribly long time since I last blogged, but in my defense I’ve been occupied with getting ready for my semester abroad in France! Yes, that’s right—Sass and the City is taking over Strasbourg, France. Prepare yourselves for some very charming sights, chic beauty product reviews and authentic recipes!
For the last week, I’ve been hooked on these awesome products by Exuviance, a leading skincare company by dermatologists that originated the glycolic peel. As a member of the Brand Backer community, I had the opportunity to try samples of the Exuviance Illumination Duo. Intended to combat the signs of aging and generally brighten your complexion, the two products include polyhydroxy acid (PHA) gluconolactone, lactobionic acid, vitamins A, C and E, and key botanicals. Naturally, I was super excited to try out this duo because 1) I had some post-acne marks and 2) the brighter the skin, the better. Clinical studies of the Exuviance Duo also show that 90% of users saw smoother skin after four weeks. I wanted to be part of that 90%!
I didn’t receive the full size duo like I thought I would, but instead got a mini bottle of the Evening Restorative Complex, a mini bottle of the OptiLight essential 6 serum, and 3 packets of their at home peel. The evening restorative complex stops wrinkles, plumps skin, and evens skin tone/texture. The OptiLight serum lightly exfoliates to fade dark spots, brightens skin and provides a luminous complexion. The peel is a 25% professional level AHA/PHA blend of glycolic acid, mandolin acid, and gluconolactone. However, I couldn’t do the peel because it’s supposed to be used twice weekly for six weeks and I only received three packets so I wouldn’t get the full effect. Plus, my skin was very sensitive at the time after my facial with a glycolic acid mask.
So I incorporated the two mini products into my regimen and followed the instructions to a tee. Every night I applied a small amount of the OptiLight Essential 6 Serum (gray bottle) to my face and then applied a small amount of the Evening Restorative Complex (white bottle). I found that after a week of use, my skin was brighter and smoother, while my spots looked lighter. My skin was never irritated, red, or greasy with these Exuviance products. Because dark spots take time to fully fade, I haven’t gotten them to go away completely but I have noticed a difference with the serum. I also find both products to have a lovely odor and provide quick absorption.
I highly recommend the Exuviance Evening Restorative Complex and OptiLight Essential 6 Serum for anyone—especially people who want to brighten skin, fade discoloration, smooth texture, and prevent wrinkles. I am really lucky to have received these products because they’re high quality and retail at $48 and $72 respectively. I look forward to trying out the at home peel once my skin turnover has occured. Please comment below if you have used any Exuviance products! You can purchase these products at the linked sites or at Ulta! Xoxo
