The Tombs: A Review

December 28, 2013 by anc49

Behold: The Tombs, a Georgetown classic and favorite. Literally on the main campus’s edge, The Tombs was founded in 1962 and remains a popular spot for native Georgetowners, students, and tourists alike. It’s a tradition for Georgetown students to go to The Tombs at midnight when they turn 21, where they receive a stamp on their forehead and party all night. On GAAP weekend (accepted students’ weekend in the spring before your new class’s first fall semester) I went with […]

‘The Happiness Project’: A Book Review

December 27, 2013 by anc49

Photo Credit: Success for Solopreneurs  When I packed my bags for New York, I knew I needed the essentials: makeup, clothes, shoes, electronic cables, bedding, etc. But my suitcases didn’t feel complete without one thing: books. So I rummaged my shelves of unread books (I have this awful habit of collecting books I want to read but don’t get to for a while… resolution, perhaps?) and found a few good reads. Tony and Joe’s: A Review

December 26, 2013 by anc49

When we all returned to Georgetown for the fall semester, my closest girl friends and I met at Tony and Joe’s for a girls’ night out dinner to recap our summers. We had all passed by it while running to the monuments or dining at nearby restaurants. So naturally, we made a reservation ahead of time and decided to give it a whirl! Here are my thoughts. Name: Tony & Joe’s Seafood Place Location: 3000 K Street NW (Washington, D.C.) […]

Sweetgreen: A Review

December 26, 2013 by anc49

Oh, SweetGreen, how I love thee. During my first semester at Georgetown, I avoided SweetGreen because I knew the addiction it created in my closest friends. I went strong for six months until that fated day in the spring when I had my first bite and fell prey to the SweetGreen spell. I’ve tried the Kale Caesar, Santorini, Guacamole Greens, Earth Bowl, and froyo. My all-time favorite is the Kale Caesar, with shrimp of course, which I will review in […]

I’m back!

December 26, 2013 by anc49

Yes, yes, I know. It’s been forever and a half since I’ve blogged. I can blame my return to college and stressful courses, but there’s really no excuse. While I did stay true to Wordnesday, the blog unfortunately became a dictionary more than anything else. I can’t really defend my indolence, so here I am blogging away, catching up on these past six months. Good news: I’ve got a stockade of foodie jackpots, pop culture phenomena, literary gems and more.
