After seeing this place on multiple “Things You Must Eat Before Leaving New York” lists and remembering my love of french fries, I ventured over to Pommes Frites. Let’s just say it was one of the best decisions of my life. I had been looking forward to this meal more than most milestone moments of my life. I was not let down.
Before I practically write a treatise of obsession and adoration for Pommes Frites, I will warn you that you must go with someone else. I know what you’re thinking. Why on earth would you espouse sharing Pommes Frites fries? Well, let’s just say that unless you were dumped by your soulmate in a huge crowd of judging people or got fired from your dream job after years of blood, sweat and tears, you should not consume a portion single-handedly. They are huge. I’m all for pigging out, but no. Just no. These authentic Belgian fries can only console the toughest of rejections and depressions.

Review: Thank God this place is not around the corner because if it were I would literally roll around Manhattan and then roll down the East Coast to get home. It was incredible. The fries were fresh, hot, savory and delish. The sauces provided the perfect addition to an already jaw-dropping, mouth-watering, waist-expanding experience. My best friend and I were in awe. Here’s a testament to the oversized portions: we got the smallest one, split it and still took it back home. That night, we baked them again in the oven with salt and pepper and paired them with the sauces. They were still life-changing. Invest in your life and go to Pommes Frites.
