As a switch from my typical SoHo Coffee Pot morning latte, my editor once recommended Aroma Espresso. If she didn’t come in with Dean & DeLuca, she usually brought Aroma Espresso, so I surmised that it was fairly reliable. Although I did enjoy SoHo Coffee Pot because it was right downstairs and well-prepared, I wanted a change of scenery. As fate would have it, SoHo Coffee Pot closed temporarily due to pipe issues. It was time to venture to a new place.

Review: I have actually been to Aroma twice. My first experience was pretty decent, albeit overpriced. Regardless, the espresso was good and did the trick. For some odd reason, my second encounter with the espresso wasn’t favorable; the espresso itself was not bitter or bad, but the drink tasted sub-par. I’m not swearing off Aroma, but I don’t see myself going there again.
