After being spoiled by Maoz falafel in Spain (which oddly enough I haven’t tried in NYC), I was hesitant to try falafel here. I found Mamoun’s on countless lists online, so I decided to give it a whirl. Located in Greenwich Village, it’s a decent and bearable walk from my apartment on a beautiful day.
Name: Mamoun’s Falafel
Location: 119 MacDougal Street
Time: 2 pm
Order: Falafel sandwich
Price: $3 (Cash only but no worries. They have a Mamoun’s ATM literally next to it.)
Review: Soooo delicious! It’s palatable and reliable falafel for only $3. Mamoun’s has a bunch of other menu options (all of which look very appetizing) but they specialize in falafel, which means you’re in good hands. Granted, it’s minimalistic with its ingredients and doesn’t have an explosion of flavors but I enjoy it each time. If you’re looking for more complicated falafel, then Taim is probably a better option.
