Once my friends and I found out about El Centro opening up on Wisconsin, we knew we had to try it out ASAP. After all, Mexican food in Georgetown (and D.C. in general) is notorious for being less than desirable. So we scurried on over and ate outside in the terrace near the bar. The décor and ambiance are totally worth mentioning – lit by strung, multi-colored lights and complete with upbeat music, rustic tables, and twenty-somethings all over the place.
Name: El Centro DF
Location: 1218 Wisconsin Avenue NW (Washington, D.C.)
Time: 7:30 pm on a Saturday
Order: Spicy crab guacamole ($14) and queso enchiladas ($13)
Review: OMG. Those enchiladas are absolutely incredible and currently making my mouth water. They’re rich, filling, creamy and flavorful, covered with a delicious sauce and accompanied with rice and beans. The rice was delectable, but the beans weren’t anything to write home about. The crab guacamole was scrumptious but relatively small for an appetizer. The chips that come with it are so crispy and salty, but the desirable kind of salty. All in all, I can’t wait to go back.
