The Keys dining review edition is back in the three part series! I’ve told you all about Alonzo’s Oyster Bar and now I’ll fill you in on Blue Heaven, a local favorite and famed eatery that’s been featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and The Best Thing I Ever Ate. My mom and I always try to sample places from either show whenever we can so this was a real treat.
While Blue Heaven has incredible seafood options, I wasn’t really craving fish so I stuck with a standard vegetarian platter. I tried my best friend’s Yellowtail snapper and it was incredible. And, of course, the key lime pie was worth the hype. I’ve had my fair share of key lime pies and rate this one a solid 4/5.

Review: DELICIOUS! It was such a well-chosen combo of vegetables and sides that worked perfectly together. The plantains and cornbread (two of my favorite foods) were especially tasty, but I also really enjoyed the rice, black beans and green beans. To be honest, I wasn’t crazy about the red onion marmalade. Regarding my friend’s dish, the yellowtail practically melted in my mouth with its out-of-this-world sauce. My mom ordered oysters but I’m not particularly a fan so I didn’t try them. The key lime pie had a well-made meringue and perfect crust. My mouth is starting to water…
