Yup—I’m back at my favorite brunch spot in Manhattan: Sarabeth’s. What’s that old phrase? All roads lead to… Sarabeth’s? Probably not, but it should be. Anyway, my friend and I met up at Sarabeth’s for brunch yesterday because she had never been and I’ll gladly convert anyone to that magical place. Surprisingly, I branched out and ordered a new breakfast item! So here’s the scoop.
Name: Sarabeth’s
Location: 40 Central Park South
Time: 11 am on a Saturday
Order: Skim latte ($4.50) and Almond-crusted French toast ($18.50)
Review: For starters, the latte was incredible. It had the perfect amount of foam and I could tell the espresso was high-quality. Bravo, Sarabeth’s barista! The French toast really hit the spot because I was starving. The taste was satisfactory (especially the strawberry-raspberry sauce and organic Vermont maple syrup), but the bread wasn’t exactly as fluffy or hot as I would have liked. All in all, it was really yummy but I prefer the pumpkin waffles (when they’re in season, ugh).
