Something I’m very proud of is my knowledge of beauty products, regimens, facts, etc. You name it, I know it… or know of it. I’m a very educated consumer and like I say, blooming beautician. However, up until recently I wasn’t wise about my spending on new products. I never went to a beauty store/boutique and asked for a sample of a product I wanted to try. Without giving it a whirl and seeing if it was worth the money, I just bought the entire bottle or container. Rookie move, trust me. I recently discovered the world of samples—going to a store and just requesting a sample first—and it rocks my world. And my account balance, too. This introduction to the sample world is how I tried out Bumble and Bumble’s Sunday Shampoo, aka their clarifying shampoo.
Yesterday I walked into Sephora and asked for a Phyto clarifying shampoo sample, but it turns out they don’t carry one, at least in Sephora. Instead, I asked for another clarifying shampoo and the Sephora employee suggested Bumble and Bumble’s version. Within five minutes, she came back with two teeny little samples of the shampoo in those clear pods Sephora uses for sample. Ecstatic and fresh off my sample high, I returned home and lived off the pure victory of free samples. It’s an addictive feeling, I’ll admit.
Over the 4th of July weekend, I felt like my hair didn’t get its proper nourishment or cleansing so I used my Bumble and Bumble sample as my first wash. I used up both little pods because she didn’t exactly give me very much of the shampoo to try. As far as clarifying shampoos go, I usually use Suave’s Daily Clarifying Shampoo (it’s great for cleaning makeup brushes, too). The Bumble and Bumble shampoo got my hair pretty clean and it smells really amazing. But I think it’s a bit expensive for a clarifying shampoo (aka not a daily main one) compared to the Suave one. It’s $24 for 8 oz., compared to $2 for 12 oz. with Suave.
I got my Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo sample at Sephora, but you can buy yours at Bumble and Bumble, Amazon or other sites. If you’ve used this product or recommend another Bumble and Bumble product, please let me know! Xoxo
I’ve been loving B&B products lately! I really want the invisible hairdresser’s oil, I’ve been avoiding using my sample because I don’t want to run out lol.
How is the invisible oil?? I’ve wanted to try it, too!
My hair gets pretty dry, has lots of fly-aways, but this oil makes it so smooth. A little goes a very long way, so I am still working through my deluxe sample. I’ll probably end up buying it 🙂
Great to know! I’m sure it’s great for color-treated hair, too—especially on the ends. I always have trouble keeping my ends nourished and smooth.
