After a very successful day of shopping at Town Center Mall in Boca Raton, my family and I swung by one of our favorite restaurants on the way home: Il Mulino. Located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, Il Mulino is a treasured Italian gem that boasts a menu of scrumptious specialties and a cozy atmosphere. I hadn’t been in about two years, but I remembered that my last experience was nothing short of wonderful.
This review will focus on the signature chicken and cranberries anelli, which is a thin crust dough that’s filled with grilled chicken, roasted corn, sautéed spinach, sun dried cranberries, cheddar cheese, and alfredo sauce; all anellis are served with delicious cheese tortellini. I will also mention that the complimentary garlic bread is DELICIOUS (must be homemade…) and that the wild mushroom polenta is so creamy and flavorful. My uncle also really enjoyed his whole wheat linguine pasta with chicken, broccoli, and olive oil.

Review: OH MY GOODNESS. It’s a good thing Il Mulino is quite the drive from my house because otherwise I’d be here every other day ordering the anelli. It’s like this cripsy wrap filled with creamy alfredo, corn and spinach, mixed with juicy chicken and sweet cranberries. It comes in three chunks, which could easily be split if you’re not that hungry or devoured if you are. The cheese tortellini that accompanies it also achieves that creamy perfection—you can tell it’s homemade! I’d recommend this in a heartbeat and wish more restaurants served this anelli. My aunt also loves the filetto anelli, which includes beef tenderloin. Two thumbs up, Il Mulino!
