For Valentine’s Day (yes, I know: I’m late), my best friend and I dined at Bistro Français because we’re major francophiles and no one does romance better than the French (or food, really). We couldn’t have asked for a better V Day dinner: everything was incredibly delicious, the ambiance was lovely and the service was great.
Too bad it’s much more of a couple’s restaurant…
Name: Bistro Français
Location: 3124 M St NW (Washington, D.C.)
Time: 7:30 pm on a Friday
Order: Onion tart and crème caramel
Price: $23.19 (with tip)
Review: Oh là là! That’s what I call a divine dinner. The onion tart was flavorful with a soft filling and perfect crust; its side salad had a delicious vinaigrette and was an ideal size. Thankfully, the onion tart had enough of an onion flavor without overpowering the other ingredients. The crème caramel was perfectly sweet and smooth. I’d definitely recommend both items, but would prefer the crème brûlée to the crème caramel (I’d say I’m biased).
