One of the many things I inherited from my grandmother is my love of flowers. I often joke with my friends that I’d rather receive flowers than chocolate (not jewelry, of course…). And of course, spring flowers are my absolute favorite. Luckily for me, the cherry blossom festival is in full swing here in Washington, D.C. and I live pretty close to the Tidal Basin, aka the cherry blossom jackpot.
I convinced my best friend to trek over with me and enjoy the full glory of these stunning flowers (and naturally, use it as a photo op). For unknown reasons, I never went to see the cherry blossoms last year and felt I had to make up for it this year.
If you’re in D.C. this week or live locally, make sure to head over to the National Mall and capitalize on this consummate weather and stunning perennials. You won’t regret it!
Truly breathtaking.
