Ever since I got to Georgetown, I’ve been dying to try out Sequoia, a popular restaurant on the Waterfront that’s well-known for its brunch menu (or at least, that’s what it seems like on my Instagram feed). Back in February, a big group of us went to Sequoia to celebrate one of my roommate’s birthdays for dinner. So alas, I tried the famed eatery.
Disclaimer: This review is about a lobster dish served at Sequoia. Before the lobster mac ‘n cheese dish, I had only eaten lobster a few times with reluctance. While I do eat fish occasionally, I have since officially stopped eating lobster for ethical reasons.
Name: Sequoia
Location: 3000 K St NW (Washington, D.C.)
Time: 8 pm on a Friday
Order: Lobster Mac & Four Cheese
Price: $16
Review: I consider myself a connoisseur of mac ‘n cheese because I have eaten it for as long as I can remember and order it whenever possible. That being said, I enjoyed this mac ‘n cheese for its melding of cheese flavors, perfect browning and soft cheese gooeyness (you know what I mean). The lobster amount was adequate and definitely added sharp lobster taste to the dish. If you’re a fan of lobster, cheese and pasta, this is the dish for you. It’s the ideal portion for one person.
