About a month ago I was at the Sephora in The Shops at Columbus Circle on a quest to buy a new spot treatment. I asked a sales associate for a stronger, more potent spot treatment than my Origins gel when she informed me that I was doing way too much to my skin and that I shouldn’t use acne regimens because I have breakouts, not full acne. Little did I know that her consultation would lead to my skin’s dramatic improvement a month later (review to come on how I cleared my skin some thanks to a new diet and regimen).
Anyway, she showed me Algenist’s line and told me their exfoliating cleanser and gel moisturizer would be my best friends. Algenist is a new skincare line formulated by scientists who originally started doing research for renewable energy sources and ended up finding a huge anti-aging breakthrough: microalgae. After rigorous scientific testing, the creators of Algenist created a compound called alguronic acid to use in skincare products, from cleansers to masks. Yes, we’re still talking about algae, aka seaweed. This is a skincare line made from seaweed that has been proven to effectively prevent aging.
Now, I know I don’t need anti-aging at 20 years old, but their Multi-Perfecting Detoxifying Exfoliator has salicylic acid (great for acne) and clay (great for excess oils). And their Multi-Perfecting Pore Corrector Gel Moisturizer is an oil-free gel that brightens skin.
Now I use the exfoliating cleanser once or twice a week because I purchased the full size bottle. However, I couldn’t afford the $65 moisturizer, so the sales associate cut a deal. Sephora was doing their beauty gifts promotion that day, so I paid the $38 for the exfoliator and got a 0.5 fl oz. portion of the moisturizer.
Sadly, I’ve already used up my trial size. A little goes a long way with this gel moisturizer, but keep in mind that it was half an ounce. All in all, I LOVED it. It was light, hydrating, soothing and fragrant. It’s better than any other moisturizer I’ve ever used and I plan on buying another one as soon as I can.
I got my Algenist gel moisturizer sample at Sephora, but you can buy yours at Algenist, QVC, Amazon, Space.NK or other sites. If you’ve used this product or recommend another Algenist product, please let me know! Xoxo
How wonderful! I’m going to try this product. Thank you.
Thanks for the review, I might try it once my current moisturizer ends! http://www.erikadoeslife.com
