Like most women (and college students), I suffer from acne from time to time. Usually, I keep my skin under control and clear, but sometimes stress gets a hold of me and sabotages my porcelain skin. And for those who have had breakouts, you know that when it gets bad, it stays like that for a while. The worst part of all? Hyper pigmentation and scars that extend their visit and mark your face until they fade. So for the past several months, I’ve been doing my best to return to my even skin tone.
I consider myself a skincare fiend who has tried out nearly everything under the sun. I follow strict skincare regimens and follow all the rules: daily sunscreen, exfoliation, wiping off makeup at night, you name it. But even with all of these steps, I still see stubborn marks.
This past summer, I began using Mario Badescu products in the hopes of clearing my skin and removing all marks. I used my specifically tailored products for months on end, but nothing worked. Finally, I decided to make a change and go for Dr. Murad, a highly reputable brand of which I had heard wonders.
THANK GOODNESS I DID. On February 14th, I started the Dr. Murad 30-day acne complex kit and saw improvement within two weeks. I’ve remained with the line for an additional month because my skin is only getting better. Granted, I plan on getting a chemical peel in a month to finally clear any hyper pigmentation, but I can 100% say that if it weren’t for Dr. Murad, my skin wouldn’t be where it is now.
With the acne kit, my breakouts reduced severely, my marks lightened and my skin brightened. I used all the steps religiously during the month trial and saw the results promised. Now I use the cleanser day and night, use the exfoliating gel in the morning and rosehip oil at night, and apply the clarifying mask about once a week. When I see dry spots in my face, I apply the lotion but have reduced my use because of the recent changes in springtime weather.
I highly recommend this skincare line to anyone with acne because of its marvelous results. A few things I will note:
- They have replaced the acne spot treatment and the new one stained my face a couple times so I’m looking to buy the old one individually.
- My face would burn a little every night when I would apply the products because your skin becomes so sensitive and removes dead cells with the exfoliation gel. My recommendation is to blow dry your face with cold air to soothe the stinging. It will go away soon. If it persists and you feel intense discomfort, stop using the gel product.
- DO NOT skip the sunscreen whenever you use the exfoliating gel.
- You can use the salicylic clarifying mask as spot treatment.
